Great Greens with Cha-Cha
  • a fat bunch of bok choy
  • a fat bunch of kale
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 tsp of Chinese 5 spice powder
  • 3 T soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup vinegar (preferably rice or white)
  • 1 T of (lexi)sugar
  • 1/4 tsp of dry mustard (preferably double super-fine)
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 6 slices of turkey bacon (optional)
  • 1 med red bell pepper, cut and slivered (so u can have threads of color yo)
  • 1 med red onion
  • 1 tsp of hot pepper flakes
Soak and wash your greens, then cut them mugs up real good. (Make sure u discard the kale ribs...they are bitter)
Sautee your garlic, hot pepper flakes and 3/4 of your onion in olive oil. What the hell ... throw your turkey bacon in there too and make it crisp, then chop it and set it aside for garnish, along with 1/4 of the red onion, chopped.
Add your greens and mustard and let them settle. When tender, add the chicken broth. Mix sugar, vinegar and soy sauce with Chinese 5 spice powder.
Simmer greens for about 15 20 minutes until juice is nice and bubbly and stuff.
Serve in a bowl with turkey bacon crumbles and chopped onion.
Then garnish with a heaping tablespoon of Florence's HomeStyle Cha~Cha
